Happy Cinco de Mayo! We had a delicious dinner with Robert's parents at Oxford Exchange. You might want to read this post later if you're feeling particularly hungry right now...
Abby still enjoys eating lemon and limes. I'll never forget how much I craved lemons when I was pregnant with her. I'd slice up two or three and squeeze all of the juice into one glass of water.
This fried chickpea appetizer was amazing. And I rarely like margaritas (I'm not a fan of syrupy sour mix) but this one made with freshly squeezed fruit juice was the perfect mix of tart and sour. Delicious!
Abby was adventurous and ate black sticky rice. She liked the chickpeas, too.
My butternut squash and quinoa taco was maybe the best taco I've ever had. YUM.
Crayons helped buy a little more time before dessert came out.
These churros were heavenly. And Stan said the strawberry ice-cream paired with them surprisingly well.
Abby finished every last drop of the sticky caramel sauce.
Isn't this dining room gorgeous? I've heard you can have wedding receptions here and I think it would be lovely for that. The building dates back to 1891 and was originally a horse stable.
Can you see munchkin at the end of the hall with Grumpy?
The attached bookstore is beautiful, too. They have author signings regularly and all kinds of first edition and special edition books. Pretty, pretty things.
Delicious food and gorgeous ambiance. Robert, I think I see some Oxford Exchange date nights in our future.
Fun! I want to go there next time I visit. Looks like just the perfect spot for us food/book lovers!
