Peach Festival

Yesterday we joined friends Brandi, Jared and Emma for the Peach Festival at Keel & Curley Winery, about 30 minutes east of Tampa. Brandi and Jared had taken Emma there to pick blueberries earlier this spring and with talk of a peach beer to try, Robert and I were game. Their fruity wines are apparently pretty terrible but we agreed that the beer was good.

These two girls love each other so much.

They chased this duck around a table for a good 5 minutes until it finally got smart and made a beeline for the pond to get away.

Always up to mischief.

On the drive over to the small orchard we were told to not expect big Georgia peaches. Florida peaches are apparently much smaller.

There were about 6 different varieties but it was HOT and pretty picked over (ha?) so each family let the girls pick about 10 peaches and then we called it a day. I didn't even have a chance to read all of the different descriptions.

These girls are becoming fruit picking champions.

Such tiny little peaches!

Hot and tired little girl.

What one did, the other had to do too.

I think I'm going to pull out my mom's fruit crumble recipe for dessert tomorrow and top each serving with a little Trader Joe's vanilla ice-cream. Yum!
